Nigeria Starts Development of 37 Solar Mini-Grids in Zamfara

On 5 November, the Rural Electrification Agency commenced development of 37 solar mini-grid projects in Zamfara State, comprising two interconnected and 35 isolated systems. The projects are expected to provide approximately 18.8 MWp of capacity and connect 125,106 households across seven local government areas. The total project cost was not disclosed. Solar equipment suppliers, engineering firms and energy-service companies may find opportunities in the programme, and HPC can support supplier sourcing and project partnerships.
